TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2012) - Parks Canada will join in the celebration of Yonge Street by offering exciting activities at "Celebration Park". The urban nature retreat, designed by Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds located in front of the ING Direct Café on Yonge Street will host a number of Parks Canada related activities.
On weekends from August 17 to September 16 discover some of Canada's natural and cultural heritage areas. A photo booth will allow visitors to have their picture taken in different iconic Parks Canada locations thanks to the green-screen technology. Children will have the opportunity to meet Parka, Parks Canada's mascot, receive airbrush tattoos and partake in "Spot the Wildlife," a wildlife scavenger hunt directly on Yonge Street.
The site will also host part of the Rouge National Urban Park Public Engagement Program. This will be one of many opportunities for the public to offer feedback or learn more about the proposed Rouge National Urban Park.
