Parks Canada to Participate in Archaeology Month 2008!

QUEBEC, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Put a little archaeology in your life! Launched in 2005, Archaeology Month has been such a success that Parks Canada is thrilled to be a part of the 2008 edition. Parks Canada has been associated with Archeo-Quebec for nine years, and together with various museums, interpretation centres and archaeological sites, will give the public an opportunity to discover the riches of Quebec's buried heritage throughout the month of august.

This year, thirteen national historic sites and national parks of Canada in eight of Quebec's tourism regions are participating in the event. They will each hold special archaeology-themed activities.

Don't miss one of Canada's most important archaeological sites. This summer, come visit the remains of the Saint-Louis forts and chateaux in Quebec. The tour takes you under the Dufferin Terrace, where an in-depth and authentic interpretation program presents the story of the city's governors and defence system.
