Parliamentary Secretary Block Promotes Canada as a Secure, Responsible Energy Supplier at Oilwell Drilling Conference

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - March 7, 2014) - Natural Resources Canada

Parliamentary Secretary Kelly Block, on behalf of the Honourable Joe Oliver, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, today delivered the keynote address at a luncheon celebrating the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors' (CAODC) 65th anniversary.

In her address, Parliamentary Secretary Block congratulated the CAODC on its work to promote safer and more efficient oil and gas drilling practices. She also emphasized Canada's role in the world as a global energy leader and the huge potential to build the industry and create jobs, growth and prosperity for Canadians.

Parliamentary Secretary Block also highlighted the Government of Canada's commitment to developing Canada's resources in ways that are both economically beneficial and environmentally responsible, and its determination to work toward ensuring that Aboriginal Peoples play a key role in Canada's natural resource industries.
