Parsons, Kiewit, and Herzog Selected to Build Mid-Jordan Light Rail Line

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2008) - Parsons, in conjunction with Kiewit Southwest Co. and Herzog Contracting Corp., has been selected by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) to build Salt Lake City's Mid-Jordan Light Rail line.

As the Engineer of Record, Parsons will be responsible for designing this 11-mile extension, which will run from the Fashion Place West Station on the North/South Line in Murray, west through Midvale and West Jordan along the UP Bingham Branch freight railroad ROW (Right-of-Way), then south to the new Kennecott Daybreak development in South Jordan.

"We are very pleased and excited to be working on this project," said Jim Shappell, Parsons Group President. "The Mid-Jordan line is one of the first segments of UTA's comprehensive rail construction project to get under way."

Construction on this estimated $220 million project commenced in May. Once completed, the light rail line will ease traffic in the rapidly growing southern end of Salt Lake County and help with air pollution.
