Parsons Named One of the World's Most Ethical Companies for Second Year in a Row

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2011) - Parsons is pleased to announce that it has been named by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the World's Most Ethical (WME) Companies for 2011. This designation recognizes companies for their commitment to ethical leadership, compliance practices, and corporate social responsibility. This year's list comprises 110 companies specializing in 38 industries, including 43 companies headquartered outside the United States.

"Each year, the competition gets more intense for the World's Most Ethical Companies, and this year was no exception with a record number of organizations vying for this distinguished honor," said Alex Brigham, Executive Director of the Ethisphere Institute. "Ethisphere congratulates Parsons on being one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 2011."

"We are honored to be recognized by Ethisphere for the second year in a row," stated Chuck Harrington, Parsons' Chairman and CEO. "This distinction ties directly with our integrity core value, which exemplifies our commitment to acting ethically in everything that we do."

This is the fifth year that Ethisphere, a think tank dedicated to the creation, advancement, and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption, and sustainability, has published the WME rankings. Ethisphere reviewed thousands of companies and evaluated a record number of applications using its proprietary methodology through in-depth research and multistep analysis.

The methodology for the WME ranking includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories, evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices, looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship, and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers, and customers.

Parsons communicates its commitment to integrity through its Code of Conduct, as well as through various training methods, including live training, videos, easily accessed online documentation, and periodic ethics "challenges" or quizzes to keep ethics in the forefront of its daily activities. In addition, Parsons has established metrics to measure the effectiveness of its integrity core value.
