Parsons to Support Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory/Lawrence Livermore National Security Life Program

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2011) - Parsons is pleased to announce that it has been selected to support LLNL/LLNS in the conceptualization of the Laser Inertial Fusion Engine (LIFE) Demonstration power plant. LIFE is the next step to the practical application of fusion energy as a highly attractive solution to society's demand for safe, secure, environmentally sustainable energy -- at a scale that meets our long-term needs.

This effort continues a long-standing relationship between LLNL and Parsons that began in 1995 and has encompassed several accomplishments, including the design and construction of the currently operational National Ignition Facility.

"The LIFE program will deliver clean, renewable energy that is intrinsically safe and compatible with existing grid infrastructure," stated Todd Wager, Parsons Group President. "We are excited and honored that LLNL/LLNS has selected us to work with them on this important, innovative technology."
