Parsons Wins Recompete of NASA Facilities Construction, Engineering, and Technical Services Contract

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2011) - Parsons is pleased to announce its selection by NASA for the Facilities Construction, Engineering, and Technical Services (FaCETS) follow-on contract at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. This firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract has an effective ordering period of 5 years.

Under this contract, Parsons will perform construction management and construction of modifications and rehabilitation of existing facilities, architect/engineer (A/E) services, engineering studies, surveys and investigations, information resources services, and work management and control services.

"Parsons is very pleased to have been awarded the recompete of this contract, which allows us to continue supporting the Goddard Space Flight Center," said Todd Wager, Parsons Group President. "Parsons has been supporting this key NASA campus with our design, engineering, and management skills since 1995. We are proud to support GSFC's mission to expand our knowledge of the earth and space."

Parsons began providing A/E and construction management services to GSFC in 1995. In 2000, Parsons won the initial 10-year FaCETS contract, expanding its role to include construction and information technology support.

The GSFC campus lies on 1,200 acres and includes 34 major buildings and numerous smaller structures, totaling almost 3.3 million ft². As one of ten NASA centers, GSFC pursues science missions focused on better understanding the earth, sun, solar system, and stars and galaxies. The GSFC's state-of-the-art science facilities have enabled NASA to fly some of the world's most capable instruments into space to advance global understanding of the universe.
