TORRANCE, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 30, 2013) - Partner Engineering and Science Inc., a national environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in Torrance, Calif., has hired Daphne Galvin, PE, PP, LEED AP, as Director of the Land Development Engineering division of its New Jersey engineering, design and consulting practice -- which expanded significantly with the firm's recent acquisition of the assets of Birdsall Services Group.
With 30 years of engineering and planning experience, Galvin specializes in design, site development engineering and landscape architecture. As Director of Land Development Engineering at Partner, she will be responsible for technical and administrative oversight of the group including design and technical issues, short-term and long-term planning, business development, staffing and quality assurance / quality control.
Throughout her career, Galvin has worked with a variety of national and regional clients including Catelus / Prologis, Rutgers University, Jersey Shore Medical Center, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, Philadelphia Water Department, SGS Communities and the Salvation Army.
"Daphne's vast experience in major development projects makes her an important addition to our management team in New Jersey," said Joseph Derhake, PE, president of Partner. "We are thrilled to bring her on board during our firm's continued expansion into the Northeast region, and particularly as we grow the services of our engineering, design and consulting team."
Galvin's experience spans a variety of project types, including the design and regulatory permitting for development of a 125,000-square-foot recreational facility on the site of the former Harrison Avenue Landfill; the design and infrastructure upgrade of approximately three miles of Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park, N.J.; the completion of remedial activities and redevelopment of a six-block brownfield formerly home to Crucible Steel Foundry in Harrison, N.J.; and the design and regulatory permitting for the Crystal Pointe mixed-use, 42-story high-rise redevelopment project along the Hudson River.
"I look forward to working with Partner and the great team currently in place," said Galvin. "It's an exciting time as the construction industry continues to recover in the current market."
Galvin graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and later earned a graduate certificate in project management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, N.J.
Prior to joining Partner, Galvin served as the director of engineering at Dresdner Robin in Jersey City, N.J. Galvin also previously worked at Schoor DePalma/CMX, portions of which were later acquired by the former Birdsall Services Group. As such, she already has a longstanding working relationship with many of the current personnel at Partner.
