Pascal Rigo, Founder of La Boulange, to Join Munchery as Chief Customer Experience Officer

Rigo to Enhance Food Experience, Diversify Product Offerings and Facilitate New Partnerships

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 8, 2015) - Munchery, the leader in high-quality meal delivery, today announced Pascal Rigo, founder and former CEO of renowned food brand La Boulange, and former SVP of Food at Starbucks, has joined its executive team as Chief Customer Experience Officer.

Rigo will help to boost the variety of dishes available through Munchery while attracting a diverse group of culinary talent to advance the company's food platform through chef-driven partnerships. Rigo will provide guidance on enhancing the overall customer experience, diversifying product offerings and developing innovative and original recipes and new platforms to offer to Munchery diners.

"How do we create a meaningful experience for customers beyond the food they're eating? We did it very successfully at La Boulange and I believe with Starbucks. Munchery is an exciting new model," Rigo said. "I see it as both a complement to, and an extension of, traditional restaurant dining. We're using technology to deliver an incredible dining experience directly to the home, and I can't wait to help Munchery innovate on that vision."

Rigo has decades of experience building, managing and scaling some of the most beloved food brands in the country. In 1996, he founded La Boulange, an artisanal bakery chain best known for serving fine pastries and baked goods to dine-in customers. He has also worked on many projects with Williams-Sonoma, Trader Joe's and Whole Food Markets to offer his delicious baked goods at scale.

After selling the chain to Starbucks in 2012, he joined the company as its SVP of Food. At Starbucks, he led the rollout of wonderful delicacies at thousands of locations across the country. Rigo has also founded and invested in a number of celebrated restaurant and food concepts as well as public charities like Good Food For Good, which helps serve better food at schools to underprivileged children and schools for children with learning difficulties.

"Pascal is a visionary in the food industry. He has built a brand that is adored and has optimized an incredible product to meet the needs of one of the largest and most beloved beverage and food companies in the world," said Munchery CEO Tri Tran. "His background, genuine leadership and focus on sourcing quality ingredients will propel the Munchery food experience to new heights. The Munchery team is thrilled to welcome Pascal and excited for our customers to enjoy the amazing dishes he will bring to their tables."
