SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 13, 2012) - Pathbrite™ (www.pathbrite.com) announced today a new agreement to integrate its next-generation digital portfolio platform with McGraw-Hill Campus™, the groundbreaking content and course integration service from McGraw-Hill Education. McGraw-Hill Campus provides faculty with single sign-on access to all of McGraw-Hill Education's leading educational content and technology right from an institution's LMS (learning management system), and will now provide seamless integration and access to the Pathbrite Portfolio Platform for both students and educators.
"Many colleges and universities today are facing immense challenges when it comes to admissions, compliance and job placement," said Tom Malek, vice president of Learning Solutions and Services for McGraw-Hill Higher Education. "Our collaboration with Pathbrite will provide institutions with an effective, affordable means of addressing these critical issues, all the while helping institutions improve the digital literacy skills of their students."
Pathbrite's technology is addressing the need for smarter, more flexible, and more comprehensive ways of assessing student learning and showcasing skills for employment opportunities. Pathbrite Portfolios enable students to collect, curate, reflect on and share all the evidence of their learning and achievements.
With Pathbrite, students are guided by their instructors to create truly Web 2.0 portfolios that demonstrate cognition and knowledge in ways traditional bubble-tests just can't. Portfolios are also proven to help with student self-reflection, course passage rates and critical thinking skills, among many other benefits. Upon graduation, students preparing to enter the workforce can share their Pathbrite Portfolio with potential employers as evidence of their work product, presentations, writing samples and internships.
"By integrating with McGraw-Hill Campus, faculty can now seamlessly provide students with the latest, most contemporary technology side-by-side the full complement of McGraw-Hill Education's leading educational content and technology that not only deliver better student learning outcomes, but more holistic student evaluations," said Heather Hiles, founder and CEO of Pathbrite.
Pathbrite is currently piloting its cloud-based portfolio platform at colleges and universities throughout the country, including: DePaul University, Stanford University, The Ohio State University, UC Santa Cruz, University of Illinois, University of Miami, University of Texas at Tyler, the Community Colleges of Baltimore County, San Jose State University, and many others. Features included as part of the Pathbrite platform make social learning and assessment a core experience for users. With private sharing, notifications, comments, publishing to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and its upcoming course-planning features for faculty, Pathbrite is focused on reinvigorating the use of portfolios as a core educational experience.
"This has been an amazing year thus far, with the launch of our company at SXSWedu 2012, closing our Series A funding, and on-boarding a host of world-renowned schools this fall," said Hiles. "The integration with McGraw-Hill Campus, and our valued distribution partners, truly advances our mission of helping students and teachers to improve individualized learning outcomes."
