Paul Louie Joins Cascadia Capital as Managing Director of the Middle Markets Practice Group

Brings Extensive Experience in Asian Cross-Border M&A and Private Equity Markets

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Sep 8, 2011) - Cascadia Capital (, a diversified, boutique investment bank serving both private and public growth companies around the globe, today announced Paul Louie, has joined the firm's Middle Market practice group as a managing director in its Seattle, Washington office. In this role, Louie will advise high growth and middle market companies on mergers, acquisitions, growth equity financing, and later-stage capital raises where the likely counterparty is an Asian based corporation or private equity investor.

"Inbound M&A activity from Asian investors continues to resemble a wave of opportunistic corporate and financial players looking to capitalize on favorable conditions here in the US, and US enterprises possess key assets around technology, distribution and brands that are highly valued by buyers in Asia looking to become more global," said Louie. "With its deep experience across the middle market, sustainable, and technology industries, Cascadia has worked with many companies that have drawn interest from Asian buyers and investors. Based on my past experience, I believe there are numerous opportunities to further expand that focus, specifically targeting advisory engagements wherein we can help West Coast companies access this rapidly growing market."

Paul has over fifteen years of experience working in the Asian capital markets. He spent five years in Taiwan where he ran an investment firm focused on emerging growth companies in the region. After returning to the United States, Paul joined Takenaka Partners LLC as the Head of the Greater China Practice. He has served as a corporate development executive and also as a special China consultant at BB&T Capital Markets. Paul specializes in cross-border fund raising, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and corporate opportunity analysis and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.

"Over the past several years, Cascadia Capital has successfully positioned itself as the leading boutique investment bank in the Pacific Northwest," said Michael Butler, chairman and CEO of Cascadia Capital. "Recently, we've seen increasing interest from our clients in cross-border transactions with Asian companies. Paul's expertise in this area will be a significant asset to our clients as we can quickly connect them with opportunities across the Asian markets."
