Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S) Announces Nine New Hires

WARREN, NJ--(Marketwired - May 30, 2013) - Nine professionals have joined Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S), the company announced today. Most of the employees will be based in the company's new Monmouth County regional office.

PS&S's team additions include the following individuals:

  • John Vena has more than 37 years of experience in the development of business, staff, team building, and financial performance. Mr. Vena has extensive experience in water resources in all phases of engineering including water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, pumping stations, combined sewer overflow (CSO) systems, and infiltration/inflow (I/I), as well as disciplines of construction and construction management. A licensed PE in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland; Mr. Vena holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont and a Certified Public Works Manager in New Jersey.
  • David Applegate brings more than 26 years of experience in the design, construction management, and operation of potable water, wastewater treatment plants and sanitary sewage pump stations. Previous responsibilities have included department budgeting, marketing/business development, and new client contact. A graduate of Rutgers University, Mr. Applegate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania; a Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) in New Jersey; a T3 Licensed Water Treatment Plant Operator in New Jersey; and a W3 Licensed Water Distribution System Operator in New Jersey.
  • Patrick Cole has previous experience as a project manager, design engineer, and technical manager for the water/wastewater industry. A graduate of the University of Delaware, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned his Master's in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University. Mr. Cole is a licensed PE in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Connecticut; a CME in New Jersey; and Certified Public Works Manager in New Jersey.
  • Steve Maravelias has joined PS&S's Environmental Department. A New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Licensed Site Remedial Professional (LSRP) and graduate of The College of New Jersey, Mr. Maravelias has a wide variety of project experience from working on Con Edison and PSEG manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites to managing multi-phase remediation projects, underground storage tank (UST) projects, Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) projects and NJDEP/LSRP correspondence and reporting.
  • James McGoldrick has more than 20 years of experience in design and project management. Past projects have included rainfall derived infiltration and inflow reduction programs and wastewater/storm water sewer separation. Mr. McGoldrick has experience with the design and construction of combined sewer overflow (CSO) remediation systems. A graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and is a PE in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
  • Rich Padgitt has experience working on water design projects including water treatment plant upgrades, wastewater treatment plant upgrades, pump station installation/rehabs, water main, sewer main, force main, well installation/rehabs and all related water/wastewater infrastructures. A graduate of Rutgers University, Mr. Padgitt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Environmental Engineering.
  • Natalya Shimunova has more than 11 years of experience in wastewater, potable water system design, project management, construction administration and permitting. Previously, she has held positions such as project manager, senior technical manager, and senior project engineer. A graduate of Polytechnic Institute at NUY, Ms. Shimunova holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered PE in New Jersey.
  • Sandra Smith, licensed PE, brings 10 years of design and management experience of water, wastewater and storm water treatment and conveyance projects throughout the proposal, preliminary design, bid and construction phases. A graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology, Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering.
  • Patrick Westhoven brings 20 years of design and management experience including the supervision of technical and non-technical personnel and has had substantial involvement in design and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities. He is a licensed PE and CME in New Jersey. A graduate of the University of Maine, Mr. Westhoven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management Technology.
