Paving of the La Monteregiade bicycle path in Ange-Gardien

The Government of Canada supports the community project of the Comite Pro-Piste

ANGE-GARDIEN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 16, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Key players in the communities have long been asking for concrete, lasting improvements to the community and recreational infrastructures. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects that, like this one by Comité Pro-Piste, contribute to the vitality of the regions throughout the country and make them more dynamic.

Pierre Breton, MP for Shefford, announced, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, that the non-profit organization Comité Pro-Piste Farnham / Granby inc. has been awarded $218,270 in financial assistance to enhance a portion of the bicycle path located within the Municipality of Ange-Gardien.

Specifically, the Comité Pro-Piste will undertake work to grade and pave a 7.3-km section of the La Montérégiade bicycle path that is currently made of stone dust. The project will enable the organization to extend the paved stretch of the bicycle path that it manages and, thereby, attract more users. The project will also have positive economic impacts for the local businesses that obtain contracts for carrying out the work.

The non-repayable contribution awarded under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) will enable the organization to undertake the required work.
