PBMI Conference Continues to Expand Scope in Its 20th Year

PLANO, TX--(Marketwired - Jan 15, 2015) -  The Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute (PBMI) will celebrate its 20th Annual Drug Benefit Conference in San Antonio, Texas March 2-4, 2015 at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel. The PBMI meeting is the nation's most comprehensive drug benefit conference of its kind. New for this year is an expanded agenda featuring three educational tracks to better meet the growing interests of conference attendees. Additionally, to jumpstart the conference, The Honorable Newt Gingrich will deliver a keynote address on "A Vision for a Transformed Health Care System."

"For 20 years, PBMI's conference has drawn a wide variety of attendees from across the nation," says Jane Lutz, Executive Director of PBMI. "In this challenging pharmacy management market, plan sponsors need to stay current with trends and issues to maintain the most efficient and clinically appropriate drug benefit options. We are thrilled to be able to continue to expand our agenda and provide conference attendees with sessions to help foster the use of best practices in the pharmacy management industry." Attendees come to build relationships and to hear from health care thought leaders about the latest best practices in pharmacy management.

While at the conference, attendees will have the choice to follow a specific educational track or customize their conference learning experience. The following tracks are available:

  • Track 1 -- Business Policy: Understand and engage in best business practices and policies to promote a sustainable drug benefit
  • Track 2 -- Clinical Management: Maximize the clinical value of the prescription drug dollar, promote patient safety, and enhance member outcomes
  • Track 3 -- Specialty and Compounds: Anticipate and plan for new and ongoing developments in the fast-growing specialty drug pipeline
