PCI for Retailers Ensures Configuration Integrity

Tripwire's Comprehensive, Quick-to-Deploy Solution Ensures Continuous Compliance and Security for Stores and Datacenters

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - June 12, 2008) - Retailers must prove compliance with PCI rapidly, and to do so they need a comprehensive solution -- from headquarters to the stores, particularly as stores are increasingly in scope under Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements. Today Tripwire, the leading provider of configuration assessment and file integrity monitoring, launched PCI for Retailers providing configuration integrity for stores and corporate datacenters.

PCI for Retailers is a comprehensive, customized solution to helps retailers ensure continuous compliance with PCI requirements -- cost-effectively, and in time for rapidly approaching compliance deadlines. The solution is priced to meet the needs of stores of all sizes and offers a professional services engagement to tailor the software package to meet retailers' unique environments.

"Tripwire knows the needs of retailers and understands the technical challenges of PCI across distributed environments," said Mark Gaydos, VP of Marketing at Tripwire. "With a majority of the top 100 national retailers using our software for PCI today, we are able to continue to refine this solution to further meet the specific needs of the industry."

Seven of the top 10 retailers ranked by Stores magazine use Tripwire Enterprise to ensure continuous compliance with PCI requirements. Tripwire has unparalleled experience helping retailers implement configuration integrity, which is the foundation of PCI. Tripwire leverages industry standards and benchmarks, such as those set by the Center for Internet Security (CIS) to assess configurations and determine the degree of risk across 21 different environments. Tripwire maintains file integrity for IT systems by continuously detecting and reporting unauthorized changes, including those caused by security breaches. Tripwire alerts and reports the changes to IT staff so that they can be immediately investigated and resolved, using its automated remediation guidance. PCI for Retailers enables stores to keep compliance costs in check with economical per-store pricing.

The Payment Card Industry Standards Council announced last month that it would release a revised edition of its standard and is expected to do so in October. Tripwire's policies can be quickly and easily updated, and customers who purchase PCI for Retailers can expect to be continuously compliant after the new standard is released.

PCI for Retailers includes Tripwire Enterprise, which addresses the configuration assessment and file integrity monitoring needs of corporate environments; Tripwire Enterprise for Stores, which extends configuration integrity to in-store registers and servers; and a professional services offering to ensure a rapid and successful deployment. Licensing fees for the Tripwire Enterprise for Stores software package begin at $99 for small stores, such as convenience stores and small specialty retailer locations; pricing for large stores, such as big-box retailers and department store chains, is $299 per store. Tripwire Enterprise for corporate environments and the professional services engagement are priced separately.
