Peabody Dental Implant Clinic Attends Three-Day Training Event in Boston

PEABODY, MA--(Marketwired - January 31, 2015) - Dr. John Argeros and his entire staff at Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology attended a continuing education conference in Boston this month that attracted thousands of oral health professionals.

Dr. Argeros, owner of Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology, and his team spent Jan. 29-30 at the Yankee Dental Congress held in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The conference included presentations by several acclaimed dental professionals; oral health product exhibits; and continuing education courses on all aspects of cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Dr. Argeros and his practice partner, Dr. Donald Plourde, sought out the conference this year because it covered so many aspects of dentistry. The Yankee Dental Congress is a top oral health conference that attracts more than 25,000 dental health professionals every year. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the conference.

"We were really excited to send our team to a top-ranked dental conference for three full days," Dr. Argeros said. "They had the opportunity to learn the most improved and up-to-date techniques."

Dr. Argeros, who is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, has served the Peabody community for more than 35 years. Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology offers All-on-4 dental implants, implants for dentures, crowns, bridges, veneers, teeth whitening, sedation dentistry and, most recently, endodontics.

Dr. Argeros began incorporating dental implantology into his practice in the 1980s. His experienced and well-trained staff uses the latest technology to serve patients through paperless dental management software, CT scans, digital radiology, intra-oral cameras and CAD/CAM restorations. Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology uses the I-Cat, a Cone Beam Computerized Tomography scanning system that shows a complete scan in just nine seconds.

Dr. Argeros is one of a few hundred dentists in the world who holds a certification in dental implants from the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. He also is the former president of the Massachusetts Dental Society of Anesthesiology. In 2009, Dr. Argeros earned the prestigious Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and was also appointed to the review board for the academy's publication, The Journal of Oral Implantology. He is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, North Shore District Dental Society, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association and holds a Mastership in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Dr. Argeros also has provided restorative dental treatment at the North Shore Medical Center Union Hospital since 1979.

Dr. Donald Plourde is a graduate of Merrimack College and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, North Shore District Dental Society and the American Dental Society. Dr. Plourde focuses on restorative dentistry and is certified in the Bicon, 3I and Branemark implant systems. He joined the practice in 1990.

Dr. Stephen Sozanski joined the practice this year. Dr. Sozanski is a 1981 graduate of Tufts Endodontic Program and recently moved from a practice in Newcastle, Maine. He had been with Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology for 10 years before his time in Maine. Dr. Sozanski will be available to patients on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
