Peace Arch Entertainment's "Watching the Detectives" to World Premiere at New York's Renowned Tribeca Film Festival

Influential Festival Provides Springboard for Worldwide Distribution of Romantic Comedy Staring Cillian Murphy and Lucy Liu

TORONTO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 20, 2007 -- Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. (AMEX: PAE) (TSX: PAE), an innovative film and television entertainment company, announced today that the romantic comedy "Watching the Detectives" will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on May 1, 2007. Shot in New York City in conjunction with New York-based Plum Pictures, Peace Arch Entertainment co-financed the film and is serving as worldwide distributor.

Entertainment industry executives are expected to attend the premiere to explore possible theatrical distribution arrangements, as well as attend subsequent screenings on May 3, 4 and 6. The festival (www.tribecafilmfestival.com) runs April 26 through May 6, 2007.

"We are very proud to be able to open this wonderful film at Tribeca, as it was shot locally in New York and New Jersey. It provides further validation of Peace Arch's strategy of distributing broad appeal comedies for the theatrical market," said John Flock, President of Peace Arch Entertainment. "Peace Arch is now being recognized by critics and prospective distribution partners as a key supplier of top quality theatrical motion pictures. We believe that this reputation will ultimately lead to the building of significant shareholder value."

"Watching The Detectives" is a romantic comedy about a film noir buff (Cillian Murphy) whose world is abruptly turned upside down when a beautiful and unpredictable real-life femme fatale (Lucy Liu) provides far more adventure than he can handle.

Since "Charlie's Angels" propelled Liu to superstardom in 2000, she has been seen in such memorable films as Tarantino's "Kill Bill Vol. 1" and "Kill Bill Vol. 2," and most recently in "Lucky Number Slevin." On television, Liu appeared as 'Ling Woo' in "Ally McBeal," a role for which she earned an Emmy nomination as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Lucy will next be seen in "3 Needles," "The Cleaner" and "Rise."

Murphy garnered a Golden Globe® Award nomination in 2006 for his performance as Patrick "Kitten" Braden in Neil Jordan's "Breakfast on Pluto." His credits also include Ken Loach's "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" (Palme d'Or winner at 2006 Cannes Film Festival), and Danny Boyle's "Sunshine." Following his breakout role in Boyle's "28 Days Later," Murphy appeared in "Batman Begins," "Red Eye" and "Girl With A Pearl Earring."

The film marks the directorial debut of Paul Soter, who also wrote the script. He was recently honored by the respected industry publication "Filmmaker," selected as one of the top 25 new directors to watch. Soter is best known for his broad comedy work as a writer/producer and star for Broken Lizard, the comedy group responsible for the films "Puddle Cruiser" and "Super Troopers." Soter starred in, wrote and produced the comedy "Beerfest," released by Warner Bros. in 2006.

"Watching the Detectives" was written and directed by Paul Soter and produced by Peace Arch Entertainment Group, Hart-Lunsford Pictures and Plum Pictures. It is produced by Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Galt Niederhoffer, Celine Rattray and Reagan Silber, co-produced by Carina Alves and Pamela Hirsch, and executive produced by John Flock, Gary Howsam along with Bill Benenson, Irving Schwartz and Randy Simon.

Peace Arch Entertainment's expanding line up of feature films and long-form television programming includes two of the favorites at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, the drama "Chapter 27" starring Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan, and "Delirious," a comedy starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Alison Lohman and Gina Gershon. Peace Arch also recently began production on the feature film satire "The Deal" on location in South Africa, starring William H. Macy, Meg Ryan, LL Cool J and Elliott Gould. Peace Arch's highly anticipated television event mini-series, "The Tudors" starring Jonathan Rhys-Myers, began airing in the U.S. on Showtime Networks in April.

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff as a response to the attacks on the World Trade Center.
