Peace Arch Hoping To Continue Winning Ways With New DGC And Emmy Award Nominations

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 11, 2005) - Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. (TSX:PAE)(AMEX:PAE) today announced that its motion picture "The Good Shepherd" has been nominated for two Directors Guild of Canada Awards (DGC) for outstanding achievement in a feature film. The announcement follows closely on the heels of the Company's two recent Emmy Award nominations for the critically acclaimed "Our Fathers," which Peace Arch produced in association with Showtime Networks.

"The Good Shepherd," which stars Christian Slater, Molly Parker and Stephen Rea, is the story of a priest who fights to clear the name of a fellow priest wrongfully accused of murder. Lewin Webb, President of the Company's feature production subsidiary Peace Arch Motion Pictures, was nominated for 'Outstanding Achievement in Direction - Feature Film' for his directorial work on the picture, which was also nominated for 'Outstanding Team Achievement in a Feature Film.' Winners will be announced on October 1, 2005.

The two Emmy nominations for "Our Fathers" came in the 'Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie' category, going to two accomplished actors - Christopher Plummer in the role of Cardinal Bernard Law and Brian Dennehy in the role of Father Dominic Spagnolia. Based on a true story, "Our Fathers" is an epic account of a small-time lawyer who uncovers the systemic cover-up of child abuse by priests in the Boston Archdiocese. The film was the first produced pursuant to a 2004 agreement between Peace Arch and Showtime to co-finance and distribute up to 15 motion pictures together; the pact runs through 2008. The 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented at a televised ceremony on September 18, 2005.

Earlier this year, the Company's television programming subsidiary, The Eyes Development Corp., won six Leo Awards for 'Production Excellence' on its "Love it or Lose it" home make-over television series and for its work on "Prisoners of Age," a documentary film exploring geriatric inmates in North America.
