Peak 1 Sports Uses Jerseys for Charity

Denver Cycling Apparel Company Is in a Unique Position to Give Support to Numerous Charities

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Oct 6, 2014) - Peak 1 Sports uses its custom jerseys to support diverse charities across the country. Many charitable organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Diabetes Association host bike rides as one of their largest annual fundraising events. Peak 1 Sports custom jerseys outfit both the host organization's event and more than 100 cycling teams that serve as the primary fundraisers for the rides. Through their work with the organizations and teams, Peak 1 Sports supports a multitude of causes with donations that include discounts, fundraising incentives, and direct financial donations.

This year, Peak 1 Sports' largest charitable project is Bike MS: City to Shore Ride. This is one of the largest Bike MS events, with more than 7000 cyclists participating. This event expects to raise $6 million for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Peak 1 Sports is offering discounts to the participating teams, donating 15% of all team jersey sales to the cause, and producing the ride jerseys that are used as fundraising incentives.

In addition to Bike MS, Peak 1 Sports has worked with numerous organizations and more than 100 teams that ride in charitable cycling events, including:

  • AngelRide, which raises more than $750,000 in support of more than 23,000 hospitalized children
  • Backstoppers, which provides support for the families of police, fire fighters, and EMS officers who die in the line of duty
  • American Lung Association's fundraisers Trek across Main and Bike Trek to Shakertown
  • SOS Outreach's Colorado Eagle River Ride. SOS Outreach serves more than 5000 at-risk youth with mentor programs and year-round outdoor activities
  • Independence Ride, which allows disabled veterans a chance to get out and ride while raising money for the Independence Fund, which provides living assistance
  • Tour de Cure, raising money for the American Diabetes Association
  • Ride to Defeat ALS, which supports the ALS Association

The level of support in each case depends on the needs of the teams and other factors.

"At Peak 1 Sports, charity is not just a seasonal thing," explained Peak 1 spokesperson Lee Holmes, "it's part of the way we do business. Literally every day we are helping fundraising organizations of all sizes to equip their cycling teams and raise money for the causes that matter to them. We make it easy for charitable teams and small cycling clubs to get custom jerseys that help drum up support and improve the experience for riders."
