Peak 10 Reveals the Presidential Election's Potential Impacts on Healthcare IT

Infographic From Recent Peak 10 Study Highlights Positive and Negative Impacts From Both Sides of the Aisle

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwired - September 27, 2016) - Will the 2016 presidential election have an impact on healthcare IT? That's a question that Peak 10, a national IT infrastructure and cloud services provider, posed to 157 healthcare IT leaders across the U.S. as part of its 2nd National IT Trends in Healthcare study. Respondents weighed in on the potential positive and negative impacts from both a Democratic and Republican perspective.

The complete analysis can be found in the following infographic: http://www.peak10.com/healthcare-it-infographic/.

The findings suggest that decision makers in the healthcare IT industry are worried that Republicans will dramatically cut funding for the Affordable Care Act and other healthcare initiatives. They are also worried that Democrats will continue to add paperwork, process, and regulation, while increasing the cost of doing business without increasing compensation.

In addition to the election's impact on the industry, Peak 10's 2nd National IT Trends in Healthcare study revealed many other trends and challenges among healthcare IT leaders and provides a window into the future of healthcare. Among these, the study shows that hospital groups are moving to outsource IT functions; adopt SaaS and cloud-based solutions; implement telemedicine portals; and rely on analytics and big data to accommodate the rapidly growing analyst-based workforce.
