Pediment Exploration Ltd.: Daniel Project Update; Financing

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 28, 2007) - Pediment Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PEZ)(FRANKFURT:P5E) reports that results for the Daniel trenching program have been received and compiled. The goal of the program was to highlight areas with bulk tonnage potential. Chip sampling was carried out along all trenches using a consistent 3 metre sample width.

Sampling revealed a large number of anomalous gold zones roughly following the north northwest trend of regional shear structures. Gold values were hosted mainly by flatly dipping stockwork zones within shears and less commonly by steep faults. Some of the better intervals are listed in the table below. A map showing the locations of the trenches, all anomalous gold results and their relationship to each other is posted on Pediment's website and can be viewed by clicking the following link:

Trench mapping and interpretation for the program is being handled by Pediment geologist Oscar Jimenez who has considerable experience in the Sonora-Mojave Mega Shear area and in particular at the La Herradura project where he was lead field geologist during the exploration programs that discovered the deposit, which is now in production. Jimenez noted that the geology and structural setting is reminiscent of the Herradura area and that soil geochemistry and trench results compare favorably to early results from deposits in the area, including early results at La Herradura itself where exploration tracing lower grade zones ultimately led to the discovery of the main Herradura zones beneath gravel cover. Pediment will complete interpretation and design a phase-two program for Daniel to extend newly discovered zones and explore for higher-grade areas laterally and along strike.

Colinas Drilling:

The first two holes have been completed at Colinas and both drills have been moved to their next set ups. The larger HQ rig completed a hole to 182.9 metres (600 feet) in the historic resource area, and the NQ rig completed its first hole to 81.7 metres (268 feet) in the Colinas East zone. Both holes intersected wide zones of higher sulphide content that are indicators for better gold grades in the camp. Core is being logged, split and shipped for assay as drilling continues.

Private Placement:

Pediment has agreed to a non-brokered private placement of one million units at a price of $0.75. Each unit includes one common share and one half of one common share purchase warrant. Each full warrant will allow the purchase of an additional common share at $1.00 for 18 months following the closing date of the offering.

Pediment's exploration programs are conducted under the direction of geologist Melvin Herdrick, MSc (Registered Professional, Washington State), who is a qualified person within the definition of National Instrument 43-101 and who reviewed the contents of this release.

Pediment Exploration is a well financed, aggressive exploration company with approximately $3.4 million of working capital, and a main focus on precious metals exploration in western Mexico. It currently has 10 fully owned and one optioned project. Pediment has expanded its pool of technical staff and consultants and is accelerating exploration on a number of projects. Results are expected from several projects and will be reported on when available.
