Pediment Exploration Ltd.: Project Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 11, 2007) - Pediment Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:PEZ)(FRANKFURT:P5E) is pleased to report progress and update shareholders on a number of its active projects. Activity in recent weeks has been focused on drilling at the Colinas project in Baja California Sur and on mapping and pre drilling activities at the Daniel and Juliana projects. New geological and compilation maps are being prepared for all three projects based on ongoing work. Once digitized, copies will be posted on the website.

Juliana - Mulatos Camp:

Pediment crews have been working on road and drill pad construction since getting approvals from local ejidos. Drill access is now largely completed and the company is negotiating with drill contractors and plans to be drilling in May. A major part of the pre-drilling program has been remapping geology of the Juliana project in order to identify areas with favorable rock units for hosting stratabound gold. Mapping and surface sampling has been completed on the northern portion of the project. This area saw relatively little past exploration but appears to have the most exposures of the favorable rhyodacite. Sampling has returned bulk tonnage grades from several areas but the Company's focus is exploration for higher grade occurrences similar to those recently discovered on adjacent projects controlled by Grayd Resources and Alamos Gold. The model is still evolving but it appears high grade stratigraphic gold occurrences are most likely to occur where both the favorable rock unit and nearby structures that acted as conduits for gold bearing fluids are present. Pediment's mapping was focused on targeting these favorable areas for drill testing.

A number of new trenches were completed and sampled at Daniel, which have extended the mineralized trend by several hundred metres. Detail mapping has also been completed in the trenches and surrounding area. Mapping has revealed a strong correlation between gold grades in the trenches and areas of high silicification present either as silica flooding or as veins, stockwork and fracture. The system has an overall northwesterly trend as expected. Planning is being carried out for the next phase of exploration which could include both drilling and additional sampling in pediment covered areas to the east of the trenched areas. The overall system at Daniel is quite large and still open in most directions. As noted in earlier releases, Pediment has been approached by several companies interested in optioning Daniel and advancing the project. No decisions have been made concerning potential terms.

Colinas - Baja California Sur:

Drilling continues at the Colinas project with two drills. Drilling productivity has been good, which has necessitated the addition of another core splitter and helpers to speed the process of core preparation for analysis. Samples from the first four holes are in the lab. Results will be reported when received. Several holes were drilled around the known historical Colinas resource and south of the Colinas East trenches. Both drills have been moved north to begin exploration testing of new geophysical/geochemical anomalies to the north and west of the main Colinas trend and to begin testing to depth within the Colinas East trench area. The drills are currently completing holes 10 and 11 of the program.

Financings, warrants exercise:

A total of 2,766,181 warrants have been exercised by shareholders, raising $1,804,058 and increasing Pediment's cash position to $ 5.6 million.

Pediment's exploration programs are conducted under the direction of geologist Melvin Herdrick, MSc (Registered Professional, Washington State), who is a qualified person within the definition of National Instrument 43-101 and who reviewed the contents of this release.

Pediment Exploration is a well financed, aggressive exploration company with approximately $5.6 million of working capital, and a main focus on precious metals exploration in western Mexico. It currently has 10 fully owned and one optioned project. Pediment has expanded its pool of technical staff and consultants and is accelerating exploration on a number of projects. Results are expected from several projects and will be reported on when available.
