Peggy Noonan to Keynote Orange County Business Council Annual Dinner: Turning Red Tape Into Red Carpet

Join Orange County Business Council at the 2011 Annual Dinner, "Turning Red Tape Into Red Carpet," featuring keynote speaker Peggy Noonan. Noonan is a columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the bestselling author of eight books on American politics, history, and culture. Her most recent book, Patriotic Grace, is a call for a more elevated national politics. In 2008 The National Journal dubbed her political column indispensable to an understanding of the presidential year, and Forbes Magazine called her column "principled, perceptive, and patriotic." Noonan's essays have appeared in TIME, Newsweek, The Washington Post and other publications, and she provides frequent political commentary on television.

In addition to hearing from Noonan, the Annual Dinner will highlight those heroes of local government who are helping businesses grow and create jobs in a tough economy. Recognition will be given to those individuals, organizations, and municipalities that have cut through the red tape in an effort to create a more business-friendly climate in Orange County. Honorees include Southern California Association of Governments, Orange County Transportation Authority, Anaheim Union High School District, County of Orange, Orange County Sanitation District, Irvine Ranch Water District, Orange County Department of Education, and the Cities of Orange, Anaheim, Mission Viejo, Tustin, Brea, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, and Fullerton.

The Annual Dinner will also install OCBC's 2011 Board of Directors led by incoming Chairman Eddie Northen, UPS Vice President of Finance for the West Region.
