Penguin Windows Continues Its Corporate Support of the Treehouse Champions for Foster Kids Luncheon

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2010) -  Penguin Windows announced today that it is continuing its ongoing support of Treehouse with a $25,000 donation to the charity at the Treehouse Champions for Foster Kids Luncheon. The luncheon, held today at the Seattle Sheraton, is the organization's major fundraising event of the year, which provides valuable support to enhance the lives of foster kids. With the donation, Penguin becomes one of the organization's all-time leading sponsors, contributing more than $200,000 since first partnering with the charity in 2001. In addition to the corporate contribution, more than 36 employees and business associates of Penguin also attended the event and made individual contributions. Penguin Windows supports Treehouse with contributions throughout the year. For each window the company sells, $1 is donated to Treehouse.

"We're extremely honored to once again support Treehouse in its mission to create better lives, and better opportunities for the state's foster care children," said Vaughn McCourt, Director of Operations for Penguin Windows. "Every year we focus on growing our contributions to Treehouse, because it really does make a difference. Whether it's sending a child to summer camp, supporting their dreams through extra-curricular activities, or providing clothes and supplies to help them fit in at school, Treehouse makes a direct and tangible impact to children whose lives have been turned upside down from neglect or abuse."

Since 1998, Treehouse has been filling the gaps for kids in foster care, becoming one of the most respected social service agencies in the Pacific Northwest. Today, the organization is recognized both locally and nationally for its innovative and highly effective programs to improve the lives of foster kids. You won't hear any complaints from Treehouse as 2010 marks Penguin's second contribution as a top-level sponsor, capping nearly a decade of continuous financial support that totals more than $200,000.

"Thanks to Penguin's commitment and generosity, many more foster children will be able to receive our important services," said Janis Avery, Executive Director of Treehouse. "In a time when corporate giving is down, it is a much-needed shot in the arm for our organization and we thank Penguin for their dedication to the foster children of our communities."
