Penn Chooses TeleVox as Patient Communications Provider

MOBILE, AL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 1, 2006 -- TeleVox Software, Inc., a leading provider of communication solutions, recently announced the addition of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, a division of Penn Medicine, to its growing list of enterprise clients. UPHS will use TeleVox's comprehensive communication solutions to standardize patient messaging throughout all of its departments.

With HouseCalls™, TeleVox's automated messaging system, UPHS can deliver personalized telephone appointment confirmations and other personalized communications such as no-show notifications, preventive health messages, etc. Messages are customized with a number of appointment-specific elements, including patient name, date, time, location and other instructions. HouseCalls messages are recorded by professional voice talent, maintaining a personal touch with each patient.

"TeleVox is assisting UPHS to enhance patient access initiatives," said Debra Geiger, Director of Ambulatory Scheduling Operations, University of Pennsylvania Health System. "HouseCalls' response features provide a convenient mechanism for patients to cancel appointments. Our calling window is set to allow us to re-book appointments that are cancelled via TeleVox, thus reducing our unfilled appointment rate."

UPHS will also be using LabCalls®, TeleVox's lab results delivery system, to communicate with patients following lab tests. LabCalls makes test results available to patients via touch-tone phone or Internet in a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment. Patients are given convenient, 24/7 access to results, alleviating much of the anxiety surrounding lab tests. UPHS saves the personnel and financial resources associated with other delivery methods, including staff time and postage and printing costs.

By implementing the HouseCalls and LabCalls systems, UPHS joins other leading healthcare organizations that benefit from TeleVox solutions, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, Duke University Medical Center and The Mayo Clinic.

"We are excited to assist in patient communications on behalf of such a respected healthcare institution," said Neil Armentrout, TeleVox President and CEO. "Our HouseCalls and LabCalls systems will provide new levels of efficiency while maintaining the high patient care standards of The University of Pennsylvania Health System."
