Pennington County and Rapid City (S.D.) License New World Systems' Public Safety Information Sharing Software Solution

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 5, 2005 -- New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced that the Pennington County and Rapid City public safety agencies signed a contract valued at approximately $1.3 million for its Microsoft Windows®-based Aegis®/MSP Public Safety software and services.

New World's multi-jurisdictional Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement Records, Fire Records, Mobile Computing, Field Reporting and Corrections Management, along with several additional modules, will provide a justice information sharing solution for the County and City. New World is replacing a 14-year-old system that lacked integration, restricting communication between departments. The integrated Aegis/MSP software will also provide the capability of sharing information with other agencies in the near future, creating a comprehensive justice information sharing system.

"We spent close to a year evaluating software solutions along with visiting the Sioux Falls, S.D. Police Department, which also selected New World as vendor of choice," said IT Project Manager John Beardsley, Rapid City, S.D. "We chose New World after seeing the software demonstration of its Windows product and speaking with numerous customers. In addition, the new software from New World will better integrate our systems, helping all public safety agencies in Pennington County."

Developed in-house, using proven Microsoft technology, the Aegis/MSP suite is seamlessly integrated and provides users with a familiar platform to help streamline the transition process. New World will help officers and dispatchers work more efficiently with its easy to use software, from providing officers with critical information to officers accessing information using the Mobile Computing solution. The Mobile Computing and Field Reporting software helps keep officers in the field where they belong, helping prevent crime.

"Currently, our officers on the street only have access to NCIC data and CAD screens sent to the vehicles, but with New World's Mobile solution officers will have detailed information such as call history, priors, wants, warrants, photos and the ability to scan driver's licenses and get important information quickly to the officer in the field," said Beardsley. "The new system will enhance productivity and safety."

New World's software will help 165 sworn officers, 129 firefighters, 37 communications personnel, and 170 corrections officers provide enhanced services to approximately 92,000 citizens and respond to 223,000 calls for service in the City and County.
