Pennsylvania Electricity Company, Bounce Energy, Supports Local Food Banks Through November

Bounce Energy Is Running a Social Media Campaign Through the End of November in Support of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Philabundance, Philadelphia's Local Food Bank

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Oct 22, 2012) -  Pennsylvania electricity company, Bounce Energy, is supporting local Pennsylvania area food banks this month through a social campaign on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Bounce Energy believes in contributing to charities in the communities it serves, and has done so proudly in Texas for many years. So, when Bounce Energy expanded its business to providing competitive electricity rates in Pennsylvania in October 2012, the company knew that it wanted to extend its charitable giving into the Keystone State.

The first such charity is the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. As its website states, this is a "non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that collects and distributes food through a 380+ member network in 11 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania." All food donations are collected at its LEED-certified warehouse in Duquesne, PA and then distributed to partner organizations across the region, ranging from soup kitchens, after-school programs, and MH-MR drop-in centers to various shelters, emergency / disaster relief feeding locations, and Meals on Wheels.

On the other side of the state, Bounce Energy is working with Philabundance. This organization has been providing hunger relief to Delaware Valley residents since 1984, and since joining forces with the Philadelphia Food Bank in 2005, it is now the region's largest supplier of such services. According to its website, "Philabundance provides food to approximately 65,000 people per week through our direct services and network of 500 member agencies including emergency food kitchens, food cupboards, senior centers, and more. We serve low income residents at risk of hunger and malnutrition, of which 23% are children and 16% are senior citizens."

Bounce Energy will be donating 5000 meals to the food banks as well as providing them each with one additional meal for every new "Like" received on Facebook or new follower on Twitter (@bounceenergy) throughout the months of October and November.

Pennsylvania residents are also encouraged to learn about the available plans that Bounce Energy is offering as a new electric generation supplier. That way, Bounce can provide help to those in need along with providing great rates for Pennsylvania electricity usage.
