Penticton Indian Band Supports Grand Chief Stewart Phillip

Attention: Assignment Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor PENTICTON, BC, NEWS RELEASE--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2010) - The Penticton Indian Band is proud to declare our full support behind Grand Chief Stewart Phillip in his bid for the Presidency of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs this September 16, 2010.

Chief Jonathan Kruger says that:

"The Grand Chief has a long-standing proven record of supporting the title and rights of Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island. Stewart has over 30 years of knowledge and experience in aboriginal politics. Most importantly, the Stewart listens to and takes direction from the Chiefs within the organization.

We greatly appreciate the support that the Stewart provides during our times of need. He has never hesitated to offer his full and unconditional support when called upon.

The Stewart understands the complex nature of our aboriginal title and rights and is always willing to "stand on the front lines" when it comes to the defense of our Inherent rights.

Stewart Phillip is motivated by his unconditional love for the people and is dedicated to the continuous improvement of the social-economic circumstances of our people. Stewart carries himself with a tremendous amount of quiet dignity and we deserve no less than an individual who will represent our issues in an intelligent, articulate and respectful manner".
