PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2014) - People Power, the creator of Presence, which turns iOS devices into remotely monitored WiFi or cellular video cameras, announces today its new cloud-based video storage and delivery system in the app. Presence 2.0 gives users 50 MB of free private cloud storage and secure in-app video alerts instead of through email. The new app.PresencePro.com web console allows users to also easily view and share their videos from a standard web browser.
"Presence has sent nearly 2 million motion detection video alerts worldwide, proving its popularity in connecting users with the people and things they love most," said Gene Wang, CEO of People Power. "Our wonderful user community has asked for more advanced mobile services, including longer, higher-quality video, and better monitoring and control of their homes while they're away. This major architecture upgrade enables us to deliver those and other exciting new features in the near future."
Presence users are notified instantly when motion is detected, such as an intruder, when kids arrive home from school, or when elderly relatives are moving about their day. New video alert thumbnail previews give users a snapshot of motion detection videos before viewing the longer-form videos. Video recordings are now time-stamped and secured with 2048-bit SSL, 128-bit AES video storage encryption.
In addition to motion detection capabilities, Presence enables video and audio streaming for two-way remote conversations and the ability to control robotic viewing stands for iPad and iPhone.
Presence can also be a management tool for home energy consumption with Presence-controlled Monster™ smart plugs where users can set rules to easily control their homes. For instance, IF a Presence camera detects your car coming down the driveway, AND it's after 7pm, THEN turn on a light AND turn on the tea kettle. Enabled by People Power's open IOEplatform, Monster Central Power Control plugs are the first consumer-grade smart plugs to offer Open APIs for developers and integrators building apps, analytics and algorithms.
