Peoples' Social Forum Challenges Status Quo


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 14, 2014) - A press conference will be held at Bezpala Brown Gallery to highlight the historic gathering of thousands of activists and progressive organizations in the first Canada-wide Peoples' Social Forum. Representatives of unions, first nations, environmental and peace organizations, and community groups from coast to coast to coast will converge in Ottawa-Gatineau August 20-24. Hosted at the University of Ottawa, the Peoples' Social Forum will feature over 500 workshops and many prominent representatives of civil society, such as Naomi Klein.

Speakers at tomorrow's press conference will include David McNally (York University Professor), Vanessa Gray (Indigenous Activist), Raul Burbano (Organizer of Peoples' Social Forum), and Carol Baker (Ontario Common Front).
