Perceptron® Launches Helix™ Advantage Solutions™

PLYMOUTH, MI--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2014) - Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRCP), a leading global provider of real-time, non-contact 3D measurement and inspection systems, announced the release of its new Advantage Solutions product lines. Advantage Solutions operate on a streamlined version of Perceptron's Vector software platform and leverage the technological breakthroughs provided by its 3D Helix sensors -- the only sensors in the world that allow users to choose the quantity, density, and orientation of the laser lines on an individual feature level, without ever moving the sensor.

Jeffrey M. Armstrong, Perceptron's President and CEO, explained, "Advantage Solutions were developed to offer a powerful, yet economical, option for industrial manufacturers who are in the early stages of adopting an automated dimensional gauging and/or assembly strategy. The scalable nature of Advantage Solutions allows users to begin with a basic configuration that perfectly suits their initial needs and then gradually increases system capability as their quality control strategy evolves over time."

"Advantage Solutions are targeted toward customers who have more basic requirements; are constrained by the initial investment; or are concerned by the potential complexity of migrating to automation. These solutions will serve the needs of regional automotive OEMs in Eastern Europe, China, South America, and India; and they will bring affordable metrology solutions to non-automotive OEMs and component manufacturers globally. Advantage Solutions products play an integral role in our company's ongoing success and future growth by supporting two aspects of our strategy: expand profitably in core markets and pursue prudent diversification. We see this as a significant competitive advantage because we are responding to our customers' needs for lower cost options while major competitors continue to introduce overly complex and expensive solutions."

Advantage Solutions work seamlessly in conjunction with other Perceptron product offerings. So if a customer's needs ever advance to the point that they choose to migrate to a more traditional Enterprise Solution, they are able to build upon their initial investment, re-purpose the existing equipment, and nothing is wasted. Furthermore, Perceptron's strong training and consulting programs help new customers fully utilize the system to maximize the value of their investment. Most importantly, Advantage Solutions offer customers market leading hardware and software backed by the strong customer commitment, global infrastructure, and decades of experience that are inherent to any Perceptron product.
