Percussion Software Announces CDC Web Site on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Deploys Percussion's CM System to Drive Engagement and Streamline Web Site Infrastructure

WOBURN, MA--(Marketwire - Oct 26, 2011) - Percussion Software, a leading provider of Web Content Management (WCM) software, today announced the web site supporting a key Center for Disease Control & Prevention initiative focused on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) has deployed Percussion's advanced CM System WCM solution. With Percussion CM System, the CDC can better harness the power of content to create a web presence that deepens communication, creates awareness around the initiative, and effectively drives engagement with its constituents.

The FASD site offers a wealth of information and resources to visitors seeking to learn more about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and is part of the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities. The CDC was able to rapidly deploy the FASD site on Percussion CM System without having to re-architect the site design or make changes to existing delivery infrastructure. This is the first CDC site to deploy Percussion CM System. When complete, the CDC's entire web infrastructure encompassing 15 sub domains and 1200 sub sites that serves 400,000 pages to well over 2 million daily visitors will run on CM System.

The CDC is one of several government agencies utilizing Percussion's WCM products to power their web and citizen engagement strategies. Percussion's software provides the flexibility to manage smaller initiative sites, while delivering the massive scale required to drive hundreds of thousands of pages that government agencies require. Other agencies utilizing Percussion's technology include the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services across their entire web portfolio, the U.S. General Services Administration, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

"Government agencies of all sizes and types are under pressure to deepen engagement with their constituents while at the same time streamlining their overall infrastructure," said Joe Wykes, president of Percussion. "The CDC FASD site is a great example of an agency creating a relevant and highly focused web experience around a specific initiative that engages its constituency. Similar to other agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC is also deploying Percussion CM System as a single infrastructure to ultimately manage their entire web platform. This also creates additional opportunities to streamline creation and management of topical sites that draw on content across Centers, Agencies and Departments."

Percussion CM System is an enterprise WCM platform that helps businesses, government agencies, and organizations power cutting-edge websites, reusing content from many sources across multiple sites and channels to drive their government-to-constituent strategies and enable greater civic engagement. CM System is based on a truly decoupled architecture that separates the WCM technology from the delivery tier, letting organizations protect their legacy investments in delivery platforms, or move rapidly to cloud infrastructure, while maintaining operational flexibility.
