Perfect Posture, Perfect Game: Evidence Based Apparel Proves Its Point

Patented Technology Puts Evidence Based Apparel's Posture Shirt in Baseball's History Archives

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 14, 2012) - Last evening, Alignmed, Inc., d.b.a. Evidence Based Apparel™ ("EBA"), a technology and research firm in Southern California that develops garments to assist human balance, scored an exciting home-run when pitcher Matt Cain, of the San Francisco Giants, wore the Gravity1™ Posture Shirt under his uniform, while throwing what was the 22nd perfect game pitched in Major League Baseball's history.

EBA was first introduced to the Giants pitching staff by Barry Zito over the offseason. Mr. Zito was working on pitching mechanics with pitching coach Tom House, PhD at the University of Southern California. Dr. House, a world renowned sports performance researcher and baseball mechanics author, introduced Zito to the EBA garment as a means to assist muscle and joint balance for the purposes of injury prevention and decrease of muscle fatigue. Since introduction of the product to Barry Zito, Dr. House and a team of researchers from USC have conducted research with EBA garments that has shown an increase in throwing accuracy and a reduction in fatigue. Barry Zito's first career complete game shutout earlier this season occurred while wearing the EBA Gravity1 Posture Shirt™.

"EBA garments perform like corrective lenses for vision -- once the form-fitting garment is placed on the body it works with the innate physical properties of muscles to assist them in their natural desire to keep us aligned. Our aim is to help correct existing muscle imbalances and to reduce muscle fatigue in order to prevent injury," says Bill Schultz, CEO and founder of Evidence Based Apparel. "I created this company over seven years ago with the idea that easy to use and affordable garments could provide assistance to human movement and be the first garments to validate results backed with clinical research."

Today, EBA's technology is worn by many of baseball's elite athletes. In addition to Matt Cain and Barry Zito, the remainder of the Giants' pitching staff are using the product.
