Carr to Augment SHAKER's Experienced Team of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists Dedicated to Improving Quality of Hire Through Selection Science

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - Sep 3, 2014) -  SHAKER, the market leader in custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today announced the addition of Alison E. Carr to its Insights Team, a group dedicated to raising quality of hire through selection science and the ongoing refinement and success of the Virtual Job Tryout® solution within clients' organizations.

"Alison offers a unique combination of analytical depth, early career corporate experience, and an engaging style that together will foster quality, trusted advisor relationships with our clients," said Joseph Murphy, SHAKER executive vice president.

With the hiring of Carr, SHAKER continues to expand its Insights Team in response to the increased demand for the company's advanced simulation solutions. The team, primarily comprised of industrial/organizational psychologists, is focused on using talent analytics with data collected through each organization's pre-employment simulations. The outcomes are deeper insights that will drive the accuracy of predictive modeling and raise quality of hire.

Before joining SHAKER, Carr was a Talent Management and Learning consultant at the Timken Company and a research specialist at the Center for Organizational Research. She also has provided talent management and I/O consulting services for the Freedom House for Women. Highly active within the psychology department at the University of Akron in Ohio, Carr served on several committees for the school, including chairing the I/O Positive Affect Committee and the Graduate Student Website Committee.

Carr anticipates the completion of her doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Akron in December 2014. Her dissertation is titled "Influencing Feedback Orientation to Enhance Performance Management." In addition, Carr holds a master's degree in I/O psychology from the University of Akron, as well as a bachelor's degree in psychology from Sweet Briar College in Virginia.

Carr commented, "I was exposed to the Virtual Job Tryout early in graduate school and it instantly changed the way I thought about pre-employment assessments. Having the opportunity to work on creative candidate engagement with scientific rigor at SHAKER was impossible to pass up."
