-- Listen to Satyam Vaghani and Frank Denneman present "Decoupled Storage: Leveraging Server Flash in a Virtualized Datacenter"

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 21, 2014) - PernixData, the leader in server-side storage intelligence, today announced that the company will be a Gold-Level Sponsor (booth #1017) at VMworld 2014, taking place August 24-28 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Building off of the success of last year's VMworld show where PernixData first introduced FVP software and won two "Best New Technology" awards, this year the company will showcase new FVP version 2.0 features that set the storage acceleration bar even higher. The company will also provide exclusive access to the new vSphere Design Pocketbook - Blog Edition at the show, expanding upon the huge success of the vSphere Pocketbook - Tweet Sized Recommendations, launched last year. Additionally, PernixData experts will deliver several presentations on decoupled storage throughout the show, including the much heralded combination of Satyam Vaghani and Frank Denneman in session STO3008-SPO.

Live PernixData FVP™ Demos
PernixData technology experts will give live demos of PernixData FVP™ software in booth #1017. PernixData FVP software virtualizes server flash and RAM to enable scale-out storage performance that is independent of capacity. No changes are required to VMs, servers or primary storage, ensuring maximum performance of all virtualized applications in a seamless, scalable and cost-effective manner.

FVP version 1.0 was introduced in August 2013, where it won two Best New Technology awards at VMworld U.S. In the year since, the product has won seventeen awards, establishing itself as the premier software platform for storage acceleration. Today, FVP is estimated to be optimizing over 120,000 virtual workloads globally, with deployments ranging from 2 to 300+ nodes.

At this year's VMworld show, PernixData will be demonstrating various new groundbreaking features in FVP version 2.0, including distributed fault tolerant memory, acceleration of NFS datastores, topology aware write back via fault domains, and adaptive network compression.

Satyam Vaghani and Frank Denneman Appear on Stage for the First Time at VMworld
Two of the top industry luminaries, Satyam Vaghani (PernixData co-founder and CTO) and Frank Denneman (PernixData chief evangelist) will present in session STO3008-SPO - "Decoupled Storage: Leveraging Server Flash in a Virtualized Datacenter". This is already being heralded as one of the top sessions to attend at the show, so don't miss out. (Moscone West, Room #3014)

Wednesday, August 27, 2:00 - 3:00 pm P.T.

Overview: Storage cannot keep up with virtualization. The traditional answer -- buying more capacity to increase performance -- is expensive and inefficient. A new storage architecture has emerged to address this challenge. By putting storage intelligence into server flash and RAM, it decouples storage performance from capacity for faster VM performance, IOPS that scale-out with compute, and significantly lower storage costs. This presentation, led by Satyam and Frank, will discuss how this shift has impacted storage in today's virtual data center. In addition, they will provide real end user examples of how SMBs, enterprises and service providers have all implemented new decoupled storage architectures to improve business practices.

Andy Daniel presents "A New Era of Server Side Storage" in Solutions Exchange Theater
Andy Daniel, PernixData solutions architect, will present in Session STP3149: "A New Era of Server Side Storage" (Booth 1901)

Monday, August 25, 1:50 - 2:10 pm P.T.

Overview: New server side storage acceleration products from PernixData solve storage bottlenecks that are common in virtual data centers. The result is 10x better performance for all virtual applications, while saving 95 percent on storage costs. This presentation, led by Andy Daniel, will discuss new concepts that change the way you design your data center.

Exclusive access to vSphere Design Pocketbook - Blog Edition
At VMworld 2014, PernixData will provide attendees with exclusive access to the new vSphere Design Pocketbook - Blog Edition. This is a compellation of design articles from the top virtualization and storage bloggers around the globe. This is a follow up to the wildly popular vSphere Pocketbook - Tweet Sized Recommendations, which was launched in August 2013 and distributed to over 6,000 people in just a few months. Visit PernixData at booth #1017 to get your free hard copy, or pre-order an electronic version of the Pocketbook here (which will be distributed after the show).

Slot Car Racing and Prizes
PernixData's booth will also feature slot car racing, allowing VMworld attendees to challenge friends and colleagues to set the course record. Daily winners will take home a DJI Phantom Drone, Beats Wireless Headphones and other great prizes.
