Pershimco Names Michael Curtis as President

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 9, 2007) - PERSHIMCO RESOURCES INC. (TSX VENTURE:PRO) (FRANKFURT:BIZ) is pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Curtis is appointed President and CEO of the Company. Both postings are effective immediately. Mr. Roger Bureau, the former President and CEO will act as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Curtis should ultimately be joining the Board of Directors.

Mr. Curtis has accumulated over 30 years experience in the Canadian financial industry in the areas of trading, research, corporate finance and the management of public companies. Beginning in 1972, Michael spent 16 years as an equity specialist on the Floor of the Toronto and Montreal Exchanges. He is President and founder of Cardwell Capital Corporation, a private investment and trading company, which invests in private and public corporations in the North American markets. He has also been an active participant on the Board of Directors of a number of Public Companies including mining and oil and gas exploration and development. He served, with members of the board of directors, on various committees at the Montreal Exchange, including Chairman of the Floor Procedures Committee. Prior to founding Cardwell, Michael was an equity specialist with Prudential Bache Securities and Dean Witter Reynolds, both investment dealers in Canada, most recently on the boards and executive committees of C2C Inc., Next Millennium Commercial Corp., AAER Inc., and Daybreak Oil and Gas.
