Pershimco Resources: Drilling to Start in Courville Gold Project During Q1

ROUYN-NORANDA, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 18, 2006) - Pershimco Resources (TSX VENTURE:PRO) is pleased to announce that it will proceed with an accelerated multi-phase exploration program in 2007 for the Courville Gold Project that should establish the potential of the gold-silver mineralization.

Mr. Jean Lafleur, P. Geo., Pershimco's Director and Technical Advisor gave a presentation of the geological analysis completed in 2006 in collaboration with Mr. Alex Horvath, P. Eng., on the geological and potential block model for the Courville gold-silver mineralization. The presentation made during the AGM, can be seen on Pershimco's web site. Transcripts of the translated commentary will be made available as soon as authorisation is received on a final edited version.

Mr. Lafleur commented that "(...) The current geological information over a 100 meter strike length of the Thibodeau Intrusive appear to demonstrate continuous mineralization with grades in the order of 0.5 to 5 g/t gold and up to 15 g/t silver within sub-horizontal vein systems. The 2007 drill program should ascertain if the mineralization system has the potential to contain significant gold and silver mineralization comparable to other Archean lode gold mineralization in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, which has yielded more than 175 million ounces of gold in production over the last 100 years". Pershimco's Board of Directors unanimously agreed to launch the next phase of exploration as soon as the weather conditions permits it in the first quarter of 2007.

Mr. Roger Bureau, Pershimco's President, commented: "(...) We confirmed what was suspected for a long time, this is a very good day for Pershimco and all the shareholders. We are now moving in higher gear and we are planning for a significant exploration and validation effort that should establish before the end of 2007, the global potential of the Courville Project".

The Board also welcomed Mr. Alain Bureau as a Director. Mr. Bureau was already an officer of the company and was elected along with the other members proposed in the AGM circular
.
The company also briefed shareholders present at the AGM on its Mexican projects. Pershimco will be initiating a National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report in the first quarter of 2007 on the Camila and Melina projects. French and English transcripts of the AGM question period will be posted on the company's web site at www.pershimco.ca later in the week.
