Persistent Systems Launches Force.com Initiative for ISVs

Persistent's SaaS Competency Center and New Force.com Migration Service Enables Migration for ISVs to Salesforce.com's Platform

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 9, 2008) - Persistent Systems, one of the leading providers of Outsourced Product Development (OPD) services, today announced new Force.com enablement initiatives for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). ISVs can leverage Persistent's new SaaS Compentency Center and Migration Services for Force.com, a combination of technology and consulting services, to seamlessly migrate their applications and products to Salesforce.com's Force.com platform.

"As traditional business models for selling software products and applications are being enhanced by SaaS models, ISVs need a Platform as a Service that is agile, caters to a community of developers, and provides the necessary building blocks for business application development and delivery," said Clarence So, Chief Marketing Officer, Salesforce.com. "As a leading Salesforce.com consulting partner focused specifically on Force.com, Persistent brings the product development expertise necessary for ISVs to rapidly deploy on Force.com, accelerating the benefits of Platform-as-a-Service to our community of partners and developers."

Persistent's Migration Services for Force.com is a custom solution framework, which SaaS-enables traditional applications and accelerates the adoption of Force.com addressing key areas including migration, security, integration and data process requirements. The company has also established a dedicated SaaS Competency Center, which provides the underlying infrastructure for development and deployment of SaaS services. Based in Pune, India, the Persistent SaaS Competency Center focuses on the following:

--  SaaS-enablement methodology refined for Force.com platform;
-- Building reusable application components for migration to the
    Force.com platform; and
-- On-going SaaS adoption process improvements to enable ISVs reducing
    time and cost to market.

"Salesforce.com and Persistent are providing the infrastructure, platform and product development services, so that ISVs can focus on innovation and customer success," said T.M. Vijayaraman (Vijay), CTO of Persistent Systems. "Most of the ISVs we work with are already thinking of SaaS and the ability to help them move to a platform like Force.com will help substantially decrease time and cost to market."
