Perspecsys Announces Support for Salesforce's New Analytics Cloud

Wave, the Salesforce Analytics Cloud, Allows All Business Users to Explore Data, Generate Insights and Take Action to Improve Business Results

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 14, 2014) - Perspecsys, the leader in enterprise cloud data control protection gateway solutions, today announced its support of Salesforce's latest enterprise cloud service offering -- Wave, the Salesforce Analytics Cloud. Formally unveiled at Dreamforce14, the Salesforce Analytics Cloud allows business users to easily aggregate and analyze data and create reports and dashboards to visualize meaningful trends. With the new solution, businesses can quickly transform information into actions, significantly improving organizational effectiveness and agility.

During Dreamforce14, representatives from GE Capital will speak about their use of the Analytics Cloud solution and the impact it has and will have on its business operations. Their Dreamforce14 sessions will also cover the use of other Salesforce cloud solutions and Perspecsys' AppProtex Cloud Data Protection Gateway, which provides a number of its operating divisions with key data privacy and compliance capabilities across various public cloud SaaS platforms.

"We were happy to be part of Salesforce's Analytics Cloud announcement, but we could not have been part of it without the support of the Perspecsys solution," said John Sabino, senior vice president of commercial excellence, GE Capital. "Perspecsys is a core component of our data privacy framework as we adopt public cloud applications, providing the strong data protection we require while simultaneously preserving the SaaS application functionality our end-users demand."

The AppProtex Cloud Data Protection Gateway gives organizations the ability to control and protect data before it leaves their network. All sensitive information is replaced with a token or encrypted value while inside the enterprise's firewall; prior to going to the cloud for processing and storage. Sensitive data never leaves the organization's control in any format, so any information an unauthorized party obtains is either tokenized or encrypted, rendering it meaningless. Of equal importance, the Gateway ensures that users of cloud applications are not impacted -- they can still perform functions like searching, sorting or reporting on encrypted or tokenized data within their cloud applications while the enterprise benefits from complete control of their information.

"Our goal, first and foremost, is to provide a platform for enterprises that need to retain control of sensitive or regulated data as they aggressively adopt the cloud," said David Canellos, CEO of Perspecsys. "Our work with Salesforce and other leading cloud providers is indicative of the impact that we are having on the market. Whether it is solving data protection issues, or helping organizations tackle data residency and sovereignty challenges, we are proud to play our part in driving cloud adoption."

When looking at the market impact of Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technologies, Gartner noted, "Since their emergence in 2012, CASBs have grown in importance and today are the primary technical means of giving more control over SaaS security. This technology will become an essential component of SaaS deployments by 2017(1)." The Perspecsys Gateway is such a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technology.
