MEDFORD, OR--(Marketwire - Aug 5, 2011) - Taking the term, "pet-friendly" to heart, the TowneSuites hotel in downtown Medford stepped up to the plate recently to help the Jackson County Animal Shelter in its efforts to protect and care for thousands of pets each year.

Recognizing value in supporting their four-legged friends in need, the hotel staff raised nearly $350 that was used to purchase food and other necessary items for the shelter. All totaled, the funding was transformed into 176 pounds of kitty litter, 88 pounds of dry dog food, 48 pounds of dry cat food, 80 cans of dog food, 10 collars and a stapler for the shelter office! Additionally, supportive hotel guests donated dog food that included 40 pounds of dry food and 36 cans.
The contribution made by this Southern Oregon University hotel's service-oriented staff was the largest donation received by the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
