Pethealth Announces Guelph Humane Society Moves to PetPoint

Expanding Organization Seeking Flexible, Multifaceted Management Application Chooses PetPoint

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 6, 2011) - Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:PTZ), the leading provider of animal management software for animal welfare organizations and RFID microchip technology for companion animals in North America, and the second largest provider of pet health insurance in North America, is pleased to announce the Guelph Humane Society has joined nearly 50 other animal welfare organizations in Ontario currently licensing PetPoint.

As a cloud-based application, PetPoint can reduce, if not eliminate, IT-related infrastructure costs in addition to contributing to organizational efficiency. Notable features include robust data collection with flexible, programmable reporting, automatic "real-time" uploads of adoptable pet profiles to national online database Petango.com, and easy registration for microchips, all in a user friendly interface with complimentary onsite training and online support.

"We needed a program that could do it all and we found that in PetPoint," says Deborah Gray, Operations Manager at Guelph Humane Society. "This flexible and multifunctional program will allow us to link various aspects of our shelter operations together in a way that has never been done before. The program will also allow us to make daily medical entries in regards to animals in our care, run our adoption department more effectively, and host our investigation cases. It will eliminate much unnecessary paperwork in addition to providing all known information about an individual animal with the click of a button. Such convenience will be wonderful!"

In addition to now licensing PetPoint, the Guelph Humane Society has begun using the Company's 24PetWatch microchips as well as offering the Ontario SPCA Gift of Insurance to new pet adopters. The Ontario SPCA gift provides six weeks of complimentary insurance covering the most common accidents and illnesses occurring to cats and dogs post-adoption. Not only does this program help reduce the return of recently adopted pets for medical reasons, thereby keeping more pets in homes, but also provides new pet owners an introduction to the security of pet insurance and the ability to seamlessly move to a core policy without breaking coverage. The Ontario SPCA insurance program for dogs and cats is available through branches and affiliates of the Ontario SPCA and provided through a white-label agreement with Pethealth, the second largest provider of pet health insurance in North America.

"This is a very exciting time for animal welfare in Ontario," says Steve Zeidman, Managing Director of PetPoint Solutions at Pethealth Inc. "There has never been a time when more data and reporting on the state of animal welfare in the province were available. Nor have organizations in the province ever been in a better position to promote best practices like microchipping and pet insurance to a greater audience, both of which are proven to reduce the number of animals entering shelters. All of this is possible through PetPoint."

First introduced in 2005, PetPoint is provided free to those organizations that agree to use the Company's 24PetWatch microchips and promote its insurance programs.
