Pethealth Donates $56,000 in 2012 to American Breast Cancer Foundation Through 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure'

Company supports fight against cancer through promotion of exclusive new MiniChip for pet identification and responsible pet ownership

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 19, 2013) - Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:PTZ) is pleased to announce that its 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' campaign generated donations of $56,000 to the American Breast Cancer Foundation ("ABCF") in 2012. These donations, based on total sales of MiniChips for 2012 in the United States, include the Company's most recent donation of $12,000 for sales made during the Company's fourth quarter ending December 31st. Through an agreement signed with the nonprofit organization in January 2012 and renewed in January of 2013, a portion of the purchase price of every MiniChip sold in the United States will be donated each quarter to the ABCF.

"With the help of Pethealth's generous donations, the American Breast Cancer Foundation will continue its efforts in the fight against breast cancer with the portion of the proceeds to be used to further the American Breast Cancer Foundation's mission to provide financial assistance for breast cancer screenings and diagnostic tests for uninsured and underserved individuals, regardless of age or gender," said Sherri Walters, Associate Development Director of the American Breast Cancer Foundation. "Looking ahead, we are thrilled to have renewed our partnership with Pethealth and will continue to support the company's 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' campaign, leveraging the added health benefits of owning and caring for a pet."

Launched in January of last year, the campaign is supported exclusively in North America through the Company's 24PetWatch brand. Leveraging the power of the color pink, which is internationally associated with breast health and cancer research, 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' is an international campaign also helping the fight against breast cancer in both Canada and the United Kingdom through similar agreements signed with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Chapter and the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

"We believe this campaign, benefiting pet owners and their families, draws attention to a worthy cause while leveraging the strong bond between owner and pet. This is a model for other pet industry programs to follow," said Mark Warren, President and CEO of Pethealth Inc. "And we are pleased to be continuing with our support of the American Breast Cancer Foundation in 2013."

Currently offered exclusively through the Company's 24PetWatch brand, the Allflex manufactured MiniChip is an innovative new microchip identification technology suitable for all companion animals but designed for small animals such as cats, kittens, puppies and small breed dogs. At one third the size of standard microchip technology, it offers a far less invasive form of permanent identification with all the same lost pet recovery benefits.
