Pethealth Inc. Donates to American Breast Cancer Foundation Through 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' Campaign

Company Supports Fight Against Cancer Through Promotion of Exclusive New MiniChip for Pet Identification and Responsible Pet Ownership

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 30, 2012) - Pethealth Inc. (TSX:PTZ) ("Pethealth" or the "Company") is pleased to announce its first donation of $15,806.25 to the American Breast Cancer Foundation ("ABCF") through its 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' campaign, based on sales of microchips in the United States completed in Q1, 2012. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of the MiniChip™, offered in North America exclusively through the Company's 24PetWatch Lost Pet Recovery Program, and the fight against breast cancer. Through an agreement signed with the not-for-profit organization in January, a portion of the purchase price of every MiniChip sold in the United States will be donated each quarter to support ABCF programs.

"We are so excited about Pethealth's 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' campaign!" says Janet Rosen, CEO of the American Breast Cancer Foundation. "It is well documented that the strong relationship between pet owners and their pets helps maintain healthy lives. We are happy to partner with Pethealth, a company that strives to keep pets healthy and safe; just as the American Breast Cancer Foundation strives to keep individuals healthy and safe. The portion of the proceeds donated by Pethealth will be used to further the American Breast Cancer Foundation's mission to provide financial assistance to uninsured and underserved individuals for breast cancer screening and diagnostic tests. This assistance is available nationwide to qualified applicants regardless of age, race or gender."

'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' is an international campaign leveraging the power of the color pink, internationally associated with breast health and cancer research, through the design of the MiniChip kit, associated pet identification tags, and supporting communications. In its inaugural first quarter, the campaign was well supported with over 180 animal welfare organizations and veterinary clinics participating. Top contributors to the campaign through MiniChip sales in the United States include Beaufort County Animal Shelter and Control, Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and Humane Society of North Texas. Pet owners and interested parties can find a complete list of participating clinics and animal welfare groups on the Company's 24PetWatch website at http://www.24petwatch.com/recover-a-pet.aspx.

"We are thrilled to be working with the American Breast Cancer Foundation and very pleased with the early results of our campaign," says Mark Warren, President and CEO of Pethealth Inc. "With awareness now firmly distributed throughout the channels and on the brink of the busiest time of year for our shelter partners, we expect to see continued growth in both purchasing organizations and sales leading to donations in the months ahead."

Offered exclusively through the Company's 24PetWatch brand, the Allflex manufactured MiniChip is an innovative new microchip identification technology suitable for all companion animals but designed for small animals such as cats, kittens, and small breed dogs. At one third the size of standard microchip technology, it offers a far less invasive form of permanent identification with all the same protective benefits.

The 'Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure' campaign is also helping the fight against breast cancer in both Canada and the United Kingdom through similar agreements signed with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Chapter and the Pink Ribbon Foundation. The MiniChip is already available throughout North America and will soon be available in the United Kingdom. Over 5,657 organizations across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom purchase the Company's microchips.
