Pethealth Inc. Donates Over $15,500 to American Breast Cancer Foundation Through "Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure" Campaign

The Company continues to support the fight against breast cancer through the sale and promotion of MiniChips

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 4, 2013) - Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:PTZ) is pleased to announce its most recent donation to the American Breast Cancer Foundation ("ABCF") through its "Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure" campaign. The donation, in the amount of $15,979 was generated through sales of the Company's exclusive MiniChip, made during the Company's second and third fiscal quarters ending September 30th.

Following the introduction of the MiniChip, the "Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure" campaign, launched by Pethealth in January 2012 has through agreements with the ABCF in the United States, and similar agreements with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Chapter and the United Kingdom's Pink Ribbon Foundation, generated over $90,000 to date in donations in support of breast cancer research.

"The Humane Society of Tampa Bay would like to congratulate Pethealth Inc. on their latest donation of nearly $16,000 to the American Breast Cancer Foundation," said Sherry Silk, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. "Many of us are affected by breast cancer, whether it is friends, family or ourselves struggling with the disease. It is encouraging to see Pethealth giving back in this way. As far as MiniChips are concerned, they have been a great asset to our organization," said Silk. "The smaller needle size means less "ouch" for our animals, especially for kittens and cats, and we love that! We are very grateful for this product and our continued relationship with Pethealth Inc."

At one-third the size of standard microchip technology, the MiniChip offers a far less invasive form of permanent identification with all the same protective benefits. This technology, while suitable for all companion animals, is ideally designed for small animals such as cats, kittens, puppies and small breed dogs. Leveraging the colour pink, which is internationally associated with breast health and cancer research, the MiniChip is manufactured by Allflex USA, Inc. and offered exclusively through the Company's 24PetWatch brand.

"In partnership with each of the breast cancer foundations, the campaign has grown to become internationally recognized, benefiting pet owners and their families while drawing attention to a worthy cause," said Mark Warren, President and CEO of Pethealth Inc. "The strong bond between owner and pet is one that cannot go unnoticed and is evident by the positive response within the animal welfare community. In short, this program puts the concept of the human/animal bond into practice."

Since the launch of the program in 2012, over 620 animal welfare organizations in the United States have incorporated the MiniChip into their microchipping activities, including using the MiniChip and the associated "Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure" campaign to raise money for their own organizations. The funds generated by the shelter from these community events are then used to help meet the financial needs of the animals in their care.
