Pethealth Inc. Enters Data Report Agreement with Best Friends Animal Society

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 4, 2012) - Pethealth Inc. (TSX:PTZ) ("Pethealth" or the "Company") North America's leading provider of animal management software to animal welfare organisations ("AWOs") is pleased to announce that Best Friends Animal Society has become the largest subscriber to its industry leading PetPoint Reports.

Under the terms of the data report agreement, Pethealth has provided Best Friends Animal Society with state and regional reports on animal intakes and outcomes from 2009 through 2011 in exchange for approximately $440,000. The reports are based largely on the Company's monthly PetPoint Report, published on the third Monday of each month, which covers national trends in animal welfare. Under the terms of the agreement, completed on March 30, 2011, Best Friends also has an option for 2012 reports at an additional cost of approximately $250,000.

Pethealth is the leading aggregator of North American shelter data through the provision of its industry-leading animal management software application PetPoint, the first and most widely used cloud application now licensed by 1,810 AWOs in the United States and Canada. As a hosted solution, the Company is able to aggregate data from all its licensed users. The PetPoint application is provided free of charge to those AWOs using the Company's 24PetWatch microchip program and promoting its ShelterCare pet insurance program.

The PetPoint Report, first published in October 2010, is now widely considered the leading source of data relating to trends occurring within AWOs, including intakes, adoptions and euthanizations. Market analysts, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, R.W. Baird and C.L. King, now routinely reference the PetPoint Reports in their own market research.

Best Friends Animal Society is a leading companion animal welfare organisation with a variety of programs designed to bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets®. The agreement with Best Friends Animal Society represents the Company's second significant agreement involving aggregated AWO data. In September 2009, Pethealth signed an agreement with PetSmart Charities Inc. running through December 2011. Earlier, the two parties agreed to extend the partnership through to December 31, 2012, under terms consistent with the previous agreement.
