Petango Asks Facebook Users to Help Raise $100,000 for Animal Shelters and Homeless Pets

ROLLING MEADOWS, ILLINOIS--(Marketwire - Feb. 9, 2011) - Pethealth Inc. (TSX:PTZ) — One in three pets that entered an animal shelter in 2010 never found a home.* But there's hope. Petango wants to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption and eliminate the need for euthanasia entirely. With its "Save a Life with a Like" campaign, Petango pledges to donate $1 to animal shelters for every 'Like' its Facebook Fan Page receives, up to $100,000. The money raised will go to various Petango-partner animal shelters across North America in the effort to help homeless pets find homes.

To put a "furry" face to the campaign, several adoptable pets are featured in the "Save a Life with a Like" video available on the Petango Facebook Fan Page. One of its feline stars, Peregrine, was surrendered to The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago because his original owners didn't have time to care for him. The good news is that Peregrine has been adopted since making his film debut on Petango.com, but there still are many pets available for adoption.
