PetPoint(TM) Plays Critical Role in Successful Cat Rescue

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 29, 2012) - Pethealth Inc. (TSX:PTZ) ("Pethealth" or the "Company") is pleased to share that its industry leading shelter database management system, PetPoint, has once again played a key role in the efficient coordination, logistics and administration of a large-scale animal rescue effort, this time facilitating the successful rescue of over 500 cats from deplorable conditions at the Wyoming County SPCA. The operation was led by the SPCA Serving Erie County ("Erie County"), alongside New York State Police.

"We were anticipating anywhere from 200 to 250 cats and what we found doubled those expectations. Within 24 hours we had a database set up within PetPoint specifically for triage and were creating digital medical records, uploading photos and descriptive information, and coordinating transfers right onsite-no easy feat when you're dealing with 22 receiving organizations and hundreds of unfamiliar cats without the aid of tags or microchip identification. We might still be cataloguing animals were it not for PetPoint but instead we were able to easily manage record keeping and focus on the welfare of the animals. It's truly remarkable how quickly and efficiently we were able to mobilize and transfer so many animals. The entire rescue operation was over in a matter of days with the majority of the 79 cats we took into our own organization adopted into new homes in just over a week."

To facilitate Erie County's rescue efforts, the PetPoint Technical Support team established a dedicated 'rescue database' to isolate seized animals from the organization's existing animal inventory. Pethealth's own Gilberto Gandra, Regional Director Shelter Outreach, spent three days onsite assisting data entry and coordinating transfers through the PetPoint Transfer Network, which supported the logistics onsite and allowed for the seamless movement of digital animal records from one PetPoint shelter database to another. Over two thirds of the animals deemed fit were transferred through this network to other PetPoint licensed organizations.

"With this large number of animals coming in all at once, we could have been overwhelmed with paperwork.
