Phase2 Launches Fable -- A SaaS Offering for Long-Form Interactive Storytelling

ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwired - October 13, 2015) - Phase2 today announced the beta launch of Fable, its new storytelling software for long-form, interactive content. Optimized for multimedia integration and interactivity, Fable supports the creation of intricate stories through complex and powerful layouts. It is designed to give anyone, regardless of technical capability, a way to manifest ideas into an interactive digital presentation.

"There has been an increased demand for engaging, beautifully designed storytelling in the digital space," said Jeff Walpole, Phase2's CEO. "When we realized our clients were interested in exploring long-form interactives, but were frustrated by the lack of options -- either because custom development was too costly, or out-of-the-box tools were not robust enough -- Phase2 set out to create a storytelling platform that would empower authors to build captivating narratives. The result was Fable."

Designed to support immersive storytelling, Fable provides a way to explore complex topics via the ability to nest and arrange components, allowing stories to address both the breadth and depth of a subject.

"Fable empowers interactive storytelling by removing the dependency on custom development," said Doug Marcey, VP of Products at Phase2. "We brought together a lot of great technologies and packaged them in such a way that anyone familiar with a web browser can take advantage of Fable's drag-and-drop interface to include imagery, videos, maps, timelines, and more."

Fable's integrated social support and embeddability enable large-scale sharing of full interactives, as well as particular components. And when your content goes viral, Fable's simple hosting and publishing model will make sure your story reaches everyone successfully on any device.

Several Phase2 clients, including Carnegie Corporation of New York and the University of California San Francisco, built interactive stories with early versions of the Fable product as its development advanced.

"Beyond simply allowing us to tell a story, Fable is a true website-building tool that represents a holy grail of sorts: an easy to use 'microsite' publishing platform," said James Murdock, former Director of Digital Strategies at Carnegie Corporation. Murdock was instrumental in building Andrew Carnegie's Story, the first Fable interactive launched by Carnegie Corporation.

Murdock added, "Fable is the ideal way to quickly build and publish polished, stand-alone websites that require zero ongoing maintenance and technological know-how."

Today's launch is a beta release of the Fable software, with a full 1.0 launch expected in early 2016. To learn more about Fable, visit www.fableflow.com.
