NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2013) - Happy unions may usually be the domain of marriages and business mergers, but Auden Bistro and Bar at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is expanding those boundaries to include food as well. Starting on October 30, 2013, this restaurant's handsome private dining room will host a Wine Dinner Series that, much like Auden itself, tastefully merges modernity with tradition.
As one of Midtown Manhattan's most attractive restaurants, Auden Bistro & Bar demonstrates a restrained elegance both in the dining room and on the plate. Its open floor plan and abundant natural light lend an airiness to the space that's underscored by the wood paneling and leather seating.
Similarly, Executive Chef Mark Arnao has adapted traditional bistro fare for modern palates. His carefully composed dishes integrate regional produce and sustainable seafood to be at once satisfying, beautiful and light. Free-range rack of lamb, for example, may be paired with couscous on this bistro's globally-inspired menus.
Choosing an entrée from any of Auden's menus can spoil guests for choice, but those visiting for the special Wine Dinner Series will be spared that difficulty. During this event, diners will taste the fruits of another happy union: the exciting collaboration between the hotel's Wine Director Marika Vida and Executive Chef Arnao. As iconic figures in the wine industry and traditional haute bistro cuisine, Vida and Arnao have combined their talents to pair four-course meals with choices from Vida's exclusive wine selection. And leading each of these intimate dinners will be a pioneering woman from the wine industry.
The series lineup includes the following dinners:
- October 30, 2013 - Laura Catena, President of Bodega Catena Zapata and Owner of Luca and La Posta Wineries (Argentina)
- November 15, 2013 - Lia Tolaini-Banville, Owner, Tolaini Vineyards (Italy) and Banville & Jones Wine Merchants (USA)
- December 3, 2013 - Merry Edwards, James Beard Award Winner for Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional, Merry Edwards Winery (Sonoma County, California)
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Women's Shelter at Crossroads Community Services. Tickets are $150 per person, and seating is limited. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (212) 521-6125.
