Phoenix College Introduces New "Green" Wireless Class

RAMONA, CA--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - AmeriSkills, a training company, is beginning to assist Phoenix College - Downtown by adding to their "Green" training programs. In continued efforts to assist job placements and help Arizona workers find good quality jobs, the Downtown campus of Phoenix College will begin offering a very fruitful training course that encompasses all corporations' wireless needs and the new platforms for the telecommunication workers in Arizona. The "Green" Wireless Training course will begin April 18, 2011 at the Downtown campus location: 640 N. 1st Ave. Phoenix.

The National Broadband expansion plan is being implemented today with over $6 billion spent in expansion to date. The infrastructure is now being built with the major move to wireless infrastructure by AT&T, Verizon, Qwest and other telecommunication companies across America. This includes Wi-Fi and Wi-Max applications to replace the "last-mile" copper infrastructure to the home and business.

The national certification offered with this class is the CWTS (Certified Wireless Technician Specialist). This is the only entry level certification recognized by the telecom industry and businesses as a whole. The CWTS is offered by the Certified Wireless Network Professionals (CWNP) and is considered the gold standard in wireless technology certification. The course covers Wi-Fi Technology, standards and certifications, hardware, software, radio frequency fundamentals, site surveying, installation, various applications, security and troubleshooting.

Wireless networking is both smart and green! Wireless communications networks are proliferating at an exponential rate for many reasons. Think of the thousands of miles of copper cables that do not need to be manufactured, installed, or maintained if they are replaced by wireless networks.

Phoenix College - Downtown has other major "GREEN" training programs; Solar Training Installation, Home Energy Audit and LEED GA training. This "Green" wireless training is 40 hours and will help individuals become employable in the telecom or other businesses in one short week.

Basic networking experience/training is the only prerequisite for this entry level wireless class. If you need basic networking or data communication training, we will begin to offer basic Data Communications once per month as needed.

Phoenix College - Downtown wishes to prepare several job seekers in Arizona for the anticipated increased demand for the wireless field.

The "Wireless" and "Solar Installation" training at Phoenix College - Downtown is conducted by the training company AmeriSkills (www.Ameriskillstech.com) (888) 895-8186
